Our Global Family
Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body (Hebrews 13:3).
Being a Christian means being a part of the global body of Christ. At Crossing Church, we make the global church and global outreach an integral part of our worship. We remember and pray for Christians around the world who are persecuted as if we were with them in their suffering. Our global family is united in making disciples of all nations. As we partner together in this global work, we continue to pray for the nations, their salvation, and our brothers and sisters in their proclamation of the gospel.
Go ↔ Send
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. GO therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).
In giving us the the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), Jesus sends us all to live evangelistically. Spreading the good news of salvation is our daily practice as we delight in God and lead others to delight in Him also. We are a community of disciples making disciples for God's glory and our joy. In making disciples, Crossing Church actively teaches its members how to spread the gospel in their daily lives and how to support missions abroad.
For some of us, this will mean that God is calling them to GO abroad to make disciples, whether in short or long term missions. To this end, Crossing Church will engage in sending individuals abroad to share the gospel and educate others on how to make disciples who make disciples. All of us will actively SEND. What does this mean? Actively sending means that we give resources, prayer, and encouragement to those who are going. It also means that we are actively engaged in sharing the gospel locally. We all actively seek to share the gospel to others. The only question is one of location. Where are you sharing the gospel?
