John 15:8 says, “By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.”

The purpose of this study is to help us bear fruit to glorify God. The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20) commands us to make disciples. John 15:8 says that God gets glory when disciples are made through bearing much fruit. This is a metaphor for responding in obedience to God’s word and demonstrating that his Holy Spirit lives inside of us.

This study guide was written to model how to read the Bible for the purpose of bearing fruit. James 1:22 says, “Be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” As we walk through this book of the Bible, every thought and question drives toward the goal of bearing much fruit.
