Reformed

Resurgence

Look around. The Spirit is up to something. There is a resurgence of biblically faithful, passionate believers on board with the mission of spreading Jesus' name. This is a movement anchored by a theological foundation of four points.

The Resurgence is largely known for its global reach. We host the largest Christian leadership blog, publish a half-dozen booksannually, hold conferences around the country, and
offer a master's level theological training program for leaders from around the world. We are working on everything a tiny team possibly can to train Christians and churches around the world to lead gospel-driven lives and ministries.

Though I will always be a pastor at heart, I am now focused on training a new generation of pastors.  My official title is Director of the Bachelor of Applied Theology program at California Baptist University.  But this is my personal blog, which focuses on helping pastors, future pastors, and church leaders to understand the Christian life, especially to understand pastoral ministry and persecution.

Sovereign Grace Ministries

Sovereign Grace is a family of churches who partner together to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to fulfill our mission by planting and strengthening churches, training pastors, producing resources, and engaging in missions throughout the world.

The best way to get to know us is by visiting one of our local churches, but this section of our website (along with the links listed on the right) will help you get acquainted with our mission and emphases too. As a starting point, this overview of the ministry should give you a fuller picture of who we are:

  • Beliefs: We are evangelical, Reformed, and charismatic (read more).
  • Size: Our family includes about 80 churches. Most of them are in the U.S., with some in Canada, Mexico, Bolivia, western Europe, eastern Africa, eastern Asia, and Australia. In all, we partner to varying degrees with pastors and church-planting networks in about 20 countries
  • Origins: Sovereign Grace Ministries was founded in 1982 out ofCovenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland. We were originally known as People of Destiny International, but changed the name to Sovereign Grace Ministries in 2003.
